RON BASS x HUNTER & GATTI

If vivid, modern art is of any interest to you, there are two names you need to Google now.

Let's start with Hunter & Gatti, the duo behind a top fashion advertising agency who recently feted the opening night of "The Series", an exhibition showcasing their range as artists. Julia Restoin-Roitfield hosted the event while The Misshapes worked the DJ booth. Images, which could have easily been spreads for their clients (ranging from Carolina Herrera to W magazine), were transformed with paint and blurred lines, begging the viewer to look deeper.

On the other side of town (literally and figuratively), was the premier of "The Substance", a series of art installations and clothing by shock artist Ron Bass. Its easy to spot Ron's inspiration, in legends like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, and his quest to revive their gritty, provocative styles for our generation. His approach is definitely effective. Crowds pushed through a narrow building to catch a glimpse of the young artists and his band of supporters.
