SLIM SECRETS

The post-holiday bloat may seem daunting, but fear not, I’m armed with four effective tips to help you slim down and start the New Year with confidence. Slowly integrate these habits into your routine (aim for one a week!) and you'll notice a flatter tummy, smoother skin, and increased wellness within a few days.

ASS-KICKING CARDIO: Sometimes your workout regimen just needs a punch in the gut. My poison? Soul Cycle. The 45-minute sweat session infuses cycling, dancing, and toning to work every muscle in your body. I've noticed a faster metabolism and higher endurance from attending only 3 classes a month (in addition to my normal cardio: running 4-5 miles per week or hour-long elliptical sessions twice a week).

TONE: Yoga or Pilates is a must. Regardless of what you weigh, a toned, strong body should be your goal. Not to mention, these practices will tighten a bloated tummy dramatically (I see results after one hour-long session). Embarrassed to join a class? Turn your home into a yoga studio and with the instruction of my favorite YouTube Yogi: Leigha Butler.

GREEN JUICE: Use green juice as a replacement meal to flush out toxins (and your large intestine) by starting your morning with a hearty, large green smoothie. Wait until you feel really hungry to start drinking, then sip slowly throughout the morning. Try to hold out until noon for your next meal. If you are starving, have a banana.

HEARTY SALADS: Make one of your daily meals a hearty, leafy salad with lots of raw veggies. This will aid your digestion and is especially effective before eating meat. I like to throw in a few unsalted tortilla chips for some crunch and a sweet potato if its dinnertime.
