World renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino captured the traditional costumes of his native Peru in "Alta Moda", currently on display at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute. This phrase translates to "high fashion" and fittingly the exhibit is chaired by design powerhouse Oscar de la Renta.
Visiting the Spanish Institute was especially important to me since I studied abroad in Spain. Its located in the coziest brownstone on the Upper East Side and the staff brings back warm memories of my homestay family. I'm planning on brushing up on my Spanish with one of their group classes in the spring!
